Indonesia will likely pick Korea as the preferred bidder for its submarine acquisition program, worth $1.08 billion, industrial sources said Thursday.

“France has been practically eliminated from the race,” an official of Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine (DSME) said, asking for anonymity.

He said once the deal is sealed, Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine will be selling three 1,400-ton submarines to the Southeast Asian country.

The official said the two other bidders, Germany and Russia, were pulled out of the race in March this year for failing to meet the Indonesian Navy’s requirements.

“From April, Indonesia only invited Korea and France to make presentations, automatically disqualifying Germany and Russia” he said.

Son Hyeong-yeong, spokesman of the state-run Defense Acquisition Program Administration, confirmed that Korea has offered to export three submarines to Indonesia.

“If Korea wins the bid, two of the submarines will be manufactured here, while the remaining one will be assembled in Indonesia with key components produced in Korea,” he said.

Surabaya’s Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) says it is constructing a combat submarine at an estimated cost of Rp 3 billion (US$339,000). The vessel is expected to complete by 2013.



ITS School of Marine Engineering Hydrodynamics Lab head Wisnu Wardhana said Tuesday in Surabaya that the funds would come from a research grant from the Education and Culture Ministry disbursed in stages; Rp 1 billion per year from 2011 to 2013.

“The submarine will have three combined functions. First, it can operate as a hydrofoil, where only the wings touch the water. Second, it can function as a surface ship, and third, it can also serve as a submarine,” Wisnu said, as quoted by kompas.com.

He said the submarine was named Crocodile-Hydrofoil, adding that his team had completed 20 percent of the construction process.

Wisnu also added that the submarine would be tested in the Madura Strait upon its targeted completion in 2013.

พลเรือตรี Sumartono ผู้ช่วยเสนาธิการทหารเรือฝ่ายนโยบายและแผนกองทัพเรืออินโดนีเซีย เปิดเผยว่า กองทัพเรืออินโดนีเซียจะเข้าประจำการเรือเร็วโจมตีอาวุธปล่อยนำวิถี (Quick Ship Missile หรือ Kapal Cepat Rudal - KCR) จำนวน ๒๔ ลำ ภายในปี ๒๕๖๗ เพื่อปฏิบัติภารกิจในพื้นที่สุลาเวสีเหนือ และทางตะวันตกของประเทศ ปัจจุบันกองทัพเรืออินโดนีเซียเข้าประจำการเรือ KCR ลำแรกชื่อ KRI-641 Clurit เมื่อเดือนเมษายน ๒๕๕๔ ส่วนลำที่ ๒ ชื่อ KRI Kujang - 642 อยู่ระหว่างการติดตั้งอุปกรณ์และอาวุธประจำเรือ ทั้งนี้ เรือทั้ง ๒ ลำ ต่อโดย บริษัท PT Palindo Marine มีความยาว ๔๓ เมตร ระวางขับน้ำ ๒๕๐ ตัน ความเร็ว ๒๗ นอต ติดตั้งอาวุธปล่อยนำวิถี C-705 ปืน ขนาด ๓๐ มิลลิเมตร ๖ ลำกล้อง และแท่นปืนขนาด ๒๐ มิลลิเมตร ๒ แท่น (ที่มา : ขว.ทร.)

กลับกันคืออินโดนิเซียเศรษฐกิจดีมากมาหลายปีแล้วครับ พอเศรษฐกิจดีต่อเนื่อง การที่เขาจะหันมาสร้างเสริมกองทัพก็ไม่แปลกแต่ประการใด

ปัจจุบันอินโดนิเซียมีจำนวนเรือไม่เพียงพอต่อการดูแลเกาะเป็นหมื่น ๆ เกาะ การต่อเรือถึง 24 ลำก็น่าจะเป็นได้แค่เพียงการเติมช่องว่าง มากกว่าการสะสมอาวุธเพื่อไปรุกรานใคร

อีกทั้งอินโดนิเซียก็เป็นส่วนหนึ่งที่ต้องไปอ้างสิทธิในหมู่เกาะสแปรดลี่ย์ ดังนั้นไม่แปลกครับ

ถ้ากองทัพเรือทำให้รัฐบาลเห็นความสำคัญก็น่าจะเป็นไปได้ครับ ทุกวันนี้ทร.ไทยพูดแค่ว่าเป็นเรื่องพึ่งพาตัวเอง ซึ่งไม่พอถ้าจะให้รัฐบาลอนุมัติงบใหญ่ ๆ มา ทร.ควรพูด (และทำให้เห็น) ว่าการทำแบบนี้เป็นการสร้างเศรษฐกิจชาติ สร้างงาน สร้างรายได้ เป็นการกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจไปด้วย แบบนี้รัฐบาลน่าจะมาสนใจง่ายขึ้นครับ เพราะถ้าผมเป็นรัฐบาล ถ้าอยากแค่พึ่งพาตนเอง ก็ให้เท่าที่พึ่งพาตัวเองนั้่นแหละครับ

Indonesian authorities have decided to purchase 4 small patrol trimaranów X3K stealth class. Native shipyard builds them in Banyuwangi.

The modernization of the fleet, the Government of Indonesia has decided to order four patrol trimaranów X3K. Their provider will Lundin Industry Invest (market name - North Sea Boats), which received an initial contract for the Indo Defence Exposition in November 2010. Originally considered there were two possible configurations patrol, of which the Purchaser has chosen trimaran with rocket launchers hidden in the interior of the hull. According to JDW, a X3K is expected to cost 114 million rupees in Indonesia (12.5 million USD). The first trimaran will be paid from the budget of 2011.

The first of a series X3K Banyuwangi arises in the yard since 2010. Its launch is planned for the end of April / May 2012. Another trimarans have formed until 2014.

X3K structure is made of carbon composites (Indonesians say that this class is the largest unit built entirely of this material). It consists of a central hull and two outriggers on the contour of the double trapeze and a small auxiliary hulls at their ends. Their shape is designed to drain the water and pull boats used by the commandos flexible. Such a geometry unit is to be optimal for handling the many islands of Indonesia.

According to unofficial data, the length is 62.5 m X3K (on the water line - 50.8 m), width - 15-16 m, and reaches 1.2 m. draft trimaran empty weighs 53 tons displacement is estimated at 130 tons. The drive motors are 4 MAN 4X 1800 Watt PS. The maximum speed reaches 35 century, at a speed of 16 in. radius is 2000 nm. The crew is 31 people.


Basic armament X3K missiles are four classes of water-water based on the Chinese C-802 (they would be produced in Indonesia) with a range of 120 km. Trimaran boats can take a flexible and a group of commandos who use them.
