ภาพชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ของทหารไทยที่ไปรักษาสันติภาพร่วมกับกองกำลังรักษาสันติภาพร่วมระหว่างสหประชาชาติและสหภาพแอฟริกาในซูดาน (AU-UN Mission In Sudan) หรือ UNAMID ภายใต้กองกำลังเฉพาะกิจ 980 ไทย-ดาร์ฟู ซึ่งนอกจากภารกิจด้านยุทธการแล้วยังมีภารกิจด้านกิจการพลเรือน โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการจัดแปลงเกษตรสาธิตซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่ทหารไทยมีความรู้และมีความชำนาญ รวมถึงได้นำแนวคิดเรือ่งเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงและการทำเกษตรผสมผสานตามแนวทางของเกษตรทฤษฎีใหม่ซึ่งพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงพระราชทานไปเผยแพร่ด้วย

ภาพชุดนี้ได้รับการเผยแพร่โดยช่างภาพของกองกำลัง UNAMID ของสหประชาชาติ ถ่ายโดย Albert Gonzalez Farran ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงภารกิจของทหารไทยทั้งการลาดตระเวนรักษาความสงบ ไปจนถึงการออกหน่วยตรวจเยี่ยมและให้การรักษาชาวบ้าน TAF จึงขอนำมาเผยแพร่ ณ ที่นี้ด้วยครับ

UNAMID peacekeeper Lieutenant Kiatsakul Malisuwan, from Thailand and posted at the Engineers company in Mukjar (West Darfur), uses an ancient way to find water underground. The company has already built three waterholes at the team site, enough to provide 100,000 liters per day necessary for the 811 troops. They are now planning another one in Mukjar village for the local school.
